Biatain Alginate Ag Dressing is a silver calcium alginate dressing that consists of 85% calcium alginate, 15% carboxymethylcellulose (CMC) and a patented ionic silver complex. Biatain Ag, formerly known as SeaSorb Ag, converts to a soft, cohesive gel to provide an optimal moist wound healing environment. This silver alginate dressing provides continuous antimicrobial effect during the entire wear time, up to 7 days! Biatain Alginate is highly absorbent making it ideal for moderate to heavy exuding wounds of any size, shape and depth. The patented silver complex releases ions in the presence of wound exudate. This calcium alginate dressing can be cut to size and shape, and it will conform to the wound bed which is important for the wound healing process. Ideal for infected sloughy wounds and cavit filling. Available in 4 sizes.
