McKesson Calcium Alginate Dressings are sterile, non-woven calcium/sodium alginates consisting of a high M (mannuronic acid) alignate with reinforcement. These alginate dressings absorb moderate to heavy amounts of wound exudate and may help control minor bleeding. As the wound fluid is absorbed the alginate forms a gel, which assists in maintaining a moist environment for optimal wound healing. McKesson alginate wound dressing can be used to fill or pack the dead space in a wound. A secondary dressing is needed to hold alginates in place and to protect the wound from outside contaminents. They are reinforced for intact removal. They can be cut to size. Latex free and sterile. Available in 4 sizes.
